Help with Protein Powder?!

This is a little long, but if you have knowledge of this, PLEASE bear with me.
I have been using whey protein and on the bottle, it says it's great for a meal/snack replacement and is great for weight loss. I decided I wanted vanilla instead of chocolate and that brand didn't have vanilla. So, I went and picked up another brand in vanilla without reading it very carefully. This stuff is Six Star Pro Nutrition: Professional Strength Whey Protein Elite Series. It is more calories per scoop, but the scoop is bigger. My problem is on the bottle, it doesn't say anything about weight loss, it does say it is for strength athletes, body builders, and men and women who want to support their fitness goals. i also noticed that it has creatine monohydrate in it. My question is for me, 9 lbs from my goal I do a lot of cardio, I incorporate a reasonable amount of strength training, but do not aim for body building. I like to use the protein for a meal replacement. I don't want to bulk up too much or want my mucles to hold water. Is this protein powder ok for me to use? It was expensive and I hope I can, but won't if it will bulk me up. help! Also any suggestions for the future for a protein supplement in powder that is best for weight loss and promotion of lean muscle??

  • Why dont you call / email the company. No one will be able to advice you on that product better than them. I use PhD Pharma Whey if youre interested...

    Im not too knowledgeable on that but I do know my fiance drinks it daily like 2 times a day. Usually after he gets back from the gym. He goes to the gym once in the morning and once at night. I think he uses it to build muscle. I know this doesnt help but I thought I would put my 2 cents in lol.
    I know they have some strange flavors like chocolate peanut butter and cookies and creame..... I cant imagine that would be too good as a shake.

    Creatine will make your muscles hold on to water. I have the same goals as you do and my trainers and friends all told me to stay away from anything with creatine in it. They all suggested Optimum Gold 100% whey protein. I drink it after weight training or inbetween meals and use it in cooking when I make my own protein bars. If you belong to a gym, ask a trainer on the effects of creatine or other ingredients in that drink you bought and what would the best protein mix would be for you to reach your goals
  • You're not going to bulk up. Period. As long as you're not taking anabolic steroids, nothing you do, whether it's through diet or weight training, is going to get you hulking "man" muscles. Female blood doesn't have the free testosterone required to build huge muscles. You'll still be strong, no doubt, but you won't look huge.

    If the whey protein has a blend of carbs in it, then it can be used as meal replacement. If it is only Protein, then it is to be used as a protein supplement.

    Six Star Pro Nutrition: Professional Strength Whey Protein Elite Series has 26g of protein and 8g of carbs. This is not a replacement meal.

    Syntha 6, for example has 15g of carbs, and 22g of protein. This would be decent for meal replacement.

    Any protein powder will help with fat loss, since it provides adequate protein for your muscles and will keep your body from processing your lean muscle tissue for the protein needs.
