There is a lot of discussion on the nexplanon removal, and weight loss. I searched the Web searching for answers, I had the nexplanon in for 9 months and gained a whole 35lbs. I cannot say that yes the nexplanon will make you gain weight, but if your struggling like I did with the nexplanon inserted I can express my story with you and give you hope. Everyone's body is diffrent, some allergic to foods, some to plants and others allergic to nothing at all. I have always been a very tiny framed woman 128 lbs at 5'8 however I've never used birth control I never had a need I just chose to keep stable relationahips, and my mother has always been in my ear yelling me never sleep with a man who you couldn't picture having children with. So it was my first and last horrible experiance with birth control. I got the nexplanon inserted, because I was 25 with 3 children and I didn't and still don't want anymore I'm very happy with what I already have. It caused me to have no sexuality what so ever. My skin broke out like a freaking pizza, my hair became very brittal, and my weight shot up way high. I though had the nexplanon inserted directly after deliverING my third child. After my first and second it took me exactly 7 days and I lost all my weight after baby. After my third I had trouble with having the nexplanon. I did have it removed about a month and a half ago. Since I'm down 8lbs. I work a very hard labor job I'm consistently running throughout my day every working day I'm in charge of approximately 110 people. I would say in my case I can say 100% I'm positive without a doubt the nexplanon made me gain weight. I cannot say what it will do for others being everyone is diffrent. First and last bad experience on birth control. Good luck everyone!

I completely agree with you here. I had mine fitted around 2 years ago and noticed the weight started piling on me and it just wouldn't shift! I had mine removed yesterday so fingers crossed the weight starts to come back off! X

You may have to get your hubby to have a vasectomy if you don't want any more kids, or go on a low dose birth control pill.

I think with birth control it makes you gain weight as it increases your appetite - so if you are still tracking your calories it *should* not make any difference - I say should as I know its speculative and a lot of people claim that it has contributed to weight gain. I had a contraceptive implant fitted during my weight loss journey and can't say that it has made any difference to my progress.
