I'm wondering what other Lacto-ovo vegetarians do to meet protein goals. I do ok but I'm always looking for fresh ideas!

(Please no debates about vegetarianism-I've been a vegetarian since birth it's not optional to me.)

In order to get my protein in, I have a protein shake in the morning and I also eat greek yogurt in the afternoon. Besides that, I try to eat beans, quinoa, and throw in a protein bar every now and then!

Beans, tofu, seitan, nuts, seeds, smoothies. I don't eat eggs and rarely eat cheese, and I don't have a problem hitting my goals.

Another vegetarian since birth here! I honestly don't track my protein very closely, as I've never felt that I was suffering from not getting enough. I eat a lot of beans, and I make my fruit salads with cottage cheese. I'd say most of my protein comes from dairy. I hate the taste of eggs, so I don't eat them. It's hard work for me to reach the protein goals set for me by mfp, which requires me to have protein with pretty much every meal, which I feel throws my eating out of balance, so I just eat how I feel and ignore the goals.

Hello fellow lifetime vegetarian! Thanks for your reply. Thanks to everyone else for their replies as well!

I also don't worry too much about protein because even when I'm not tracking it I don't have any nutritional problems (except for being overweight!) However when I am REALLY trying to lose weight I notice that being close to my protein goals helps keep my appetite down. I also do a lot of dairy since I try to limit my soy intake (not because I'm scared of soy in general but because vegetarians/vegans have a tendency to eat way too much of it and thyroid problems run in my family)

I thought I might not find any new protein ideas here but put this out there just in case!
