Gained 20lb in a month-what should I do to lose it?

I am a female that is 5' 4" and I am now 140lbs. I have been eating a lot in excess this month and gained 20lbs. I know that doesn't sound to bad but 120lbs is a happy healthy weight for me and I would like to get back to that. I'm wondering if I start to work out again and have a calorie intake of about 1200 calories with healthy foods if that is a good start to get back on track. If you have any advice I would really appreciate it!

Weight loss is purely a mathematical equation. Your caloric intake needs to be less than your caloric expenditure.

It's not any more difficult being a vegetarian. Not sure why you are under that impression.

At 5' 4'' 140 you can lose weight eating more than 1200, especially if you are exercising. Put your information into myfitnesspal, set a realistic weightloss rate, and track everything accurately.

20 lbs in one month is an awful lot to gain just by eating. Go to the doctor and make sure your thyroid didn't go kaput.

This. I once gained that much, that quickly...it turned out to be adrenal and thyroid imbalances.
