Hi all! I recently lost my sister a year ago which means I've lost control of food intake. Feeding my face with unhealthy snacks. I've gained 40 pounds in one year! I'm looking to get myself back on track. I would love some help from the community and push me to my goal weight. I'm looking to lose 40lbs! Please help

Sorry to hear about the loss of your sister. I'm sure that was awful.
For weight loss all you need to do is create a calorie deficit. Eat less then you burn. There's no need for fad diets or gimmicks. No reason to go low carb( unless you have a medical condition) or Paleo. Just eat at a calorie deficit. Calories in calories out0 -
I am really close to my sister and I cant imagine what it would do to my life if I lost her. I am so sorry for your loss.
I am glad that you are feeling able to try to get back in the saddle with your weight loss.
I like to go out and buy almond or cashew milk when I am getting started on a diet so that I can make smoothies and iced coffees that are low in calories and very filling to try to get myself through the rough patches. I also try to eat more mindfully. Cutting up my food, eating slowly, chewing thoroughly, savoring every bite.
Also, you will notice that if you track your calories every day it will keep you on a login streak. I like to use that to keep myself motivated to log even if I dont feel like it.
Those are little things that help me. I hope you get lots more advice. Best of luck to you.0 -
I am so sorry to hear about your sister, I can't even imagine what kind of pain that is. It is understandable that during your grieving period you turned to food and I am happy to hear that you have now decided to break that habit. It would be the first step in getting back to YOUR life. Im sure that your sister would not have wanted to see you not love yourself. I would be more than happy to share the journey with you.1
