Lack of Support and Losing Motivation...What's a girl to do?

Hello all, so I am just wondering if anyone else has been in this situation. I do not have a lot of weight to lose and so I frequently hear that I don't need to worry about it. All of my friends like to drink so watching my calorie intake I end up constantly being the DD. Not to mention the unhealthy food that is being placed in front of me this weekend especially. Whenever I mention that I should go home and run, my boyfriend tells me that I shouldn't worry about it this weekend since it's the 4th of July. I am feeling like I am running into a brick wall, I would love to hear how some of you have pushed past the non supporters and found the strength or determination to succeed when it feels everyone wants you to fail.

I have yet to push past these walls! Just wanted to let you know that I'm in a similar situation and tag along in this thread for ideas. I don't have a lot of non-supporters, most of my close friends are all on the same journey (most are on here too). I would suggest trying to recruit a couple of your friends (convince them somehow) to run with you and show them that eating the healthy food is better for them. Maybe not to lose weight but to be healthy, have more energy and tone muscle. Find a race maybe? See if you can interest them in signing up with you and then you can train together.
My brick wall is more myself, and a few people that I know that are always pushing the non-healthy foods on me knowing I don't have the control to say no to my favourite foods.
I suppose the bottom line really is that you are doing this for yourself, push past them if they dont' want to help or join in. Show them that you can and you WILL do this despite all odds!! :happy:0 -
yeah you are right ultimately it is me that I have to push. It just kind of hurts when my BF, who is not worried about his weight as he doesn't need to be, is constantly doing things to tempt me to "misbehave". My will power gets depleted. You do have a good idea about trying to get people around me involved in a race or something we can all train together for
Thank you for the support0 -
I completely understand about the temptations. My husband is horrible as well...when I let him! LOL I filled the cupboards with healthy choices, then we went to a BBQ and ended up bringing home a taco dip...and it needed chips. I snacked on that most of the week. SOOOO bad!! I have no control sometimes and I hate it! Feel free to add me though, we can help motivate each other and stay on track! :happy:0

Lol yes it is way easier if the food just isn't in the house. My problem is always going over to friends houses or drinking. I get the munchies when I drink. A little snacking is okay though as long as you don't over do it. I find that logging it, or not wanting to log it helps stop me some of the time.0

Absolutely! I've found my food choices are much more healthy now (most of the time) because I don't want to log it and it scares me to think of the calories, fat and sodium I may consume if I do choose to eat it. Travelling is the hardest, we went on a trip this past weekend and I ate WAY too much junk and WAY too much of it! I am really watching what I eat now!0
