Daily local coffeeshop addiction

I have been going to a local coffeeshop and a few others almost every day for the last 8 years. I go before work to distract and refresh my mind or before a stressful event like seeing a difficult family member or just as a fun activity on my days off. I am inside a coffeeshop right now. I hope I don't get anything. Anyone else addicted to coffee shops?

Leave your cash and credit card at home?
I did this for a while. (bad fast food habit).
If you spend $3 a day, this is over $1,000 a year. Imagine how you can spend that.

I only go as a social thing, usually with my husband on the weekends or once or twice a week with my cycling friends after we ride.

hmm...is there something fun you'd really like to buy yourself but haven't because it's too expensive? You could give yourself the option every time you want to go to the coffee shop of going to the coffee shop, or putting that money into a jar/bank account/whatever and then once there's enough buy the thing you want? Probably better that it isn't something really expensive or you won't really have the motivation (as in, if it's only $100 that you need to save that would be pretty easy, but if it was $1000 it would take forever to get there and you'd probably decide you'd rather the coffee haha).

Can you afford it, or not really? If you've been going for eight years, you're probably all right. If it's a positive thing in your daily routine, then that's pretty cool. The quality of your day-to-day existence is super vital, IMO. It gives you a novel environment and something to look forward to.

    Other than this:

So what are you doing there?

If you want, you could try to deconstruct what you like about the activity and improve it (less money? better nutrition?).

I work at home, with crazy hours, and so getting outside in the neighborhood on foot every day is a very big deal to me. That's the essential part (going outside, walking) and then the details (buying a diet soda along the way, maybe a $1 slice of pizza) are more flexible. For a while, I'd go to a Dunkin Donuts almost every night just to be there instead of at home, but it was getting too pricey. So I figured what I really wanted was the being-outside-with-a-destination part, and that is flexible and can be free. So I switched it up.

    Anyways, just some thoughts.

I love coffee shops too. I always get something because that way I'm at least "renting" my table. But I don't get anything with tons of sugar, just a regular-sized decaf latte because dairy is good for you. ;)

Is it really that hard to just not go though? I made a habit of getting fast food every single day but now I just don't go anymore, I can't think of anything easier than just not taking myself somewhere lol

I have a sever coffee addiction and I am always grabbing a cup of coffee whenever I am out. I try bringing it from home just to cut back the spending.
