Beware of the vicious cycle

Ok, so yesterday we had our 4th of July party, which included plenty of fatty foods and desserts. I had planned on it being my cheat day, so it wasn't really an issue. Anyway, today I woke up and was trying extra hard to counterbalance the super unhealthiness of yesterday by being extra healthy today. My diet consisted almost entirely of fat free or low fat foods, so my healthy fats deficit for today was pretty intense. This meant that, by the end of the day, my body was craving fats like nobody's business. Unfortunately the most readily available (and tastiest looking) options were all of the desserts from yesterday's party. I gave in and now I'm probably over my fat allowance, not to mention they're probably mostly bad fats.

Anyway, tomorrow I will be getting back on the ball, but this time I'll make sure to satisfy my body with the healthy stuff before it searches for it with those horrible cravings.

Hopefully this post will save someone from falling into the same trap I did.

Tomorrow is always another day. Don't regret today and yesterday. You'll pick right back up tomorrow. If you have to, throw away all those sweets! I have to or else I want to eat them too. Yesterday and today weren't very good days for me. It's a holiday weekend and it's going to happen. :)

I ate a lot today as well. Had to really exercise to burn the excessive calories I consumed. I think you'll bounce back into the right path. Think positive and everything will be okay. =)

Thank goodness - I thought there was a dangerous push bike on the loose.

I'm definitely a fan of saving calories across a week in expectation of a - lets not call it a cheat day - planned higher calorie day. Doing it after the event always feels so much more negative!

[Edit] Just get back onto your regular calories now - no point in worrying about the past

    I like that!
  • I know what you mean - I love my healthy fats and I like to include them early in the day, otherwise my whole craving system goes kind of haywire. Nuts, meat, fish, eggs, butter, oil, avocado, olives... those are all good fat sources for me.

I went over too even with exercise allowance. Darn kettle cooked jalapeno chips! As someone else said, tomorrow is another day!!

Yeah, we had a party at my house today and I ate like a mad woman, but I was already changing into my workout gear before my guests were even out there door. LOL

I hit it HARD. I've let those holiday parties get me more than once...not again!
