Speeding up muscle recovery

Is there anyway to speed up muscle recovery? I do pole dancing once a week and find I'm sore and can't do any other strength training for at least 4-5 days after.

Increasing the frequency of an exercise can help. A lot of people find that if they have leg day once a week their DOMS (soreness) is greater than if they work legs more frequently. I'd think it would be the same with your clasd.

Mobility and stretching work seems to help many people. Others claim you just need to work through it. Some people find that foam rollers help.

I've seen some people claim that increased protein intake helps but I think* that this has been proven to be incorrect.

*If anyone has evidence to the contrary I'm 100% happy to be proven wrong on that point.

    Four things I'd recommend:
    1) Are you getting adequate protein and carbs after a hard workout? Tweak these.
    2) Make sure you're getting plenty of water.
    3) Keep active during your off time, moving all of your muscles slowly through the full range of motion to keep blood flow.
    4) Creatine helps me recover faster, but it will likely add around 5lbs of water weight to the muscle bodies.

That's more an issue of inconsistency to muscle activation. If you train more, then the muscle gets conditioned better and adapts.
