I just started calorie counting a few weeks ago because portion control has been my problem. I'm doing ok to start, lost six punds in 2 1/2 weeks. And I'm staying under my calorie count most days but it seems my sugar is always to high. I'm mostly eating fresh fruits and veggies with protien twice a day. But I feel like all the fruit I eat uses up my sugar grams before I get a chance to use salad dressing or carbs! Does anyone know if there are low sugar fruits? I'm using them as a treat and don't want top give them up, its helping me stay on track. Any ideas?

I wouldn't worry about it if most of your sugar comes from fruit. Just stay under your calories and you should be fine.0

I wouldn't worry about it if the majority of your sugar is coming from fruit. If it's helping you stay on track and it hasn't affected your weight loss already, I don't see why you would need to cut back on them.0

I just posted about this yesterday: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/279881-going-over-on-sugar...
the consensus that I got was not to worry if its natural sugar. I try to eat my fruits earlier in the day so that my body has the whole day to work them off but I don't think the little that MFP gives you for sugar lets you have enough fruit to get the nutrients you need. use the sugar as a baseline but don't depend solely on that. there are definitely A LOT of good health benefits from fruits.0 -
I don't even keep track of sugar because most of the sugar I eat is from fruits and vegetables, although I do eat cookies or ice cream every now and then. As long as your sugar is mainly from fruits and vegetables I wouldn't worry about it, just keep track of calories and you'll be fine. By the way, congrats on the 6 pound loss!0

Thanks a ton! Thats what I was kind of thinking and hoping for. I do enjoy my twice weekly homemade smoothie. And thanks for the link to the other sugar posts, I tried looking for some and didn't find any until after I decided to post.
