Where do I set my goal?
I'm 34 years old 6'2 and around 255lbs and when I went to the dr for a physical and mentioned that I was losing weight she pulled out her trusty bmi calculator and told me that I should shoot for my healthy range which seems to be between 169 and 195lbs. I promptly set my goal at 199lbs to be under 200.
I used a body fat scale which said that I was 28%body fat which leaves me with roughly 183lbs. I didn't believe that scale so I bought one for myself and got roughly the same result. Iit seems to me to reach the healthy bmi range which my dr wants and to reach even my goal would put me between 6-8% body fat which I would believe is far too low.
Where should I set a goal? should I aim for a body fat percentage or a weight?

Isn't 6-8% for men normal? I'm sure it is.0

You're overthinking. Percents don't work like that. Normal weight is normal fat%, not skinny. As you lose weight, you lose lean body mass as well as fat. Just eat the appropriate calories, fat and protein, and aim for your goal weight, you'll be fine.0

from what I read 12 to 18 is normal.
