Cheers,

Louise,
I've found myself right where you currently are and I found this site. I think this site works if you're willing to be totally open and honest with yourself and the "friends" you make on this site. We keep each other motivated and encouraged and for me that has helped loads. I know this doesn't really give you the help you need but hopefully it will give you some motivation to stay on this site and let us the "mfp family" help and encourage you.

Welcome! You've come to the right place. There is so much info here, sometimes it might be a bit overwhelming. Once you start logging your food and exercise, you'll be better able to find what you need to do and the more we know about your eating and exercise habits the more we can help you too.
Just logging cals can be a huge help and monitoring your nutrients as well. Good luck.
Ask away, that's what we're here for.0 -
Hi Louise - I'm new as well - and I hope this site will help me as well - I have always been able to stay at a normal weight and somewhere along the line I lost whatever I had worked for. It's taken me over 20 yrs. to get to this weight which has now become a major burden - and unhealthy. I have two bad knees and the extra weight is making my life miserable. Rome wasn 't built in a day - and my goal won't be met in that time frame - so I am opting for a better and healthier life style. Hang in with me.

Hi
This site is a real eye opener!! I was doing Slimming world for a while but found it very easy to overeat (even on the good stuff) and have to many calories, and therefore didn't lose anything!!
But MFP makes you think and I've found so far that I am choosing the healthier options for my calorie allowance. Its not always easy (4pm is my danger time) but the support on here is amazing. Good luck. x0
