I am struggling with thyroid disease and losing weight. If anyone has any tips for pain motivation or dieting please feel free to add me. I am determined to get this weight off once and for all. Lost 50lbs when I began my thyroid medication and have slowly gained that plus another 10 back. I need support.

It is possible to lose while suffering from a thyroid disorder. I have lost 30 pounds so far. Ithink has been very slow, and not linear. I have lost and gained a few times. It is really about sticking with it even when the results are a tiny trickle. Diet is about measuring and being reasonable, well that and watching soy intake as it interferes with your meds. Exercise really helps with the lethargy, brain fog and anxiety that can be symptoms as well. Good luck, you can get to the same destination it will just bWe a slower journey.3

I started Thyroid Complex from The Vitamin Shoppe & it's really helped me with not being so lethargic. My motivation has ramped up along with less brain fog. I noticed a difference within a day. I haven't weighed yet as I am a week back in logging here but with taking it I have notice I don't have cravings as before.2 -
I'm really interested in losing weight while battling my thyroid disease. Long story short I currently weigh 199 and want to be 150 lbs. What is the product from the GNC?1

I went to a homeopathic doctor when I was originally diagnosed with a hypothyroid. He helped me adjust my diet as well as giving me supplements that helped increase my thyroid function. I used a product called Thyroid Pro, but I know there are other products that may work better depending on what type of body you have and whatnot. I had a friend with a similar thyroid issue and she was given a different supplement by the same doctor.
While with the homeopathic doctor, he also brought it to my attention that I had low progesterone, which when I took the supplement for that, it also helped.
If you are able to afford a homeopathic doctor, I highly recommend you visit one. It was well worth it.1 -
Hi there. I was diagnosed with hashimotos 4 years ago. I had gained a lot of weight because of it. I'm in Italy so the name of my medication is different (eutirox ) . Took a long time to get the correct dosage but it looks like my TSH levels are good now and have started to lose weight (slowly ) . I'd be happy to share the journey with you. Feel free to add me.0

Hi there! I have hypothyroidism and have lost 30+ pounds with a combination of diet and exercise.
- Are you seeing a general doctor or a specialist? I've been seeing an endocrinologist and I've been much better for it. Sometimes, a GP just can't hack it to get you to feeling optimal.
- What tests does your doctor order when monitoring your thyroid? You need more than just the TSH. I get TSH, free T3 and T4, TPO and several others. One single lab value is not enough to see how you're functioning.
- What medication does your doctor have you taking? Some people are just fine on synthroid (t4) and its generics. Some people do better on natural meds like Armour (also t4). Still others need need a t3 medication added, such as cytomel. If not feeling well, consider asking him/her if a dosage adjustment would be appropriate, or switching to a different brand.
-Are you taking your medicine correctly? As in, on an empty stomach, and waiting 30-60 minutes before eating? And also no supplements 4 hrs before or 4 hrs after taking your thyroid meds?1
