Foufou's Accountability Thread

Greetings all!
Edit: A little about me. I'm 28 years old and live in Southern Indiana with my boyfriend and dog. I'll be turning 29 this year and I am wanting to lose weight for my sister's wedding in October this year. I used to be a very active in my younger days but over the last 5 years since graduting college I've become more sedintary. I enjoy video games, roller derby, outdoors, and listening to podcasts.
I'm stilll fairly new to MFP but as I was listening to a fitness podcast they mentioned that accountability is one way to help keep yourself motivated. So here is some juicy fodder for you fitness moms out there.
I will:
-Ride my bicycle to work twice a week. (Tuesday, Wednesday)
-Ride my bicycle for at least 45 min on the weekend.
-Eat less fast food. (For real, yo)
-Eat more homecooked food.
-Drink more water.
I'm determined to lose roughly 30 lbs by October. I did manage to ride my bike into work for the first time today and it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be (5.63 mi). However, I just know I'll find a way to slack off on this given half a chance.
I now look to you, the fine folks fo the MFP community, to kick my butt and keep me accountable. I'd like to put my inner fat kid back where it belongs. Inside.
Regards,
Foufou

Woot! Progress made.
I managed to ride my bike into work again today. Hit my goal of both days this week and I'm pretty happy.
Also had a small coup on the food front. Put my foot down yesterday and told the BF no to Wendy's and told him we have to eat leftovers. Saved money and ate much more healthy than I would have otherwise.
The real trick will be keep the momentum up for several weeks in a row.0 -
The good news: Rode my bike in again today. Shooting for 2 weeks solid. I hear it takes repeating the same act 9 times or so in a row to make it a habit. I also got in my 45 min exercise this weekend.
The bad news: Ate like absolute crap Monday evening. So much for avoiding fast food. Friend me if you want to see the horror.
I've altered my goals to be slightly more agressive. I need to not be a sausge in formal wear by October!0 -
Another successful week last week. We'll see how this one goes thanks to the weather. Rode my bike into work today and from what I understand, it's over 100 degrees outside today. Yuck! But I did it. Dropped a few lbs finally and I'm close to being able to squeeze into a pair of shorts I haven't been able to wear for a while.
I also bought some weights this weekend so I can weave some strength training in as well. All and all I'm feeling really positive and motivated about my new lifestyle. Fingers crossed that I can make it last!0 -
Success! Going on week 4 of riding my bike in. I've also reached my very first mini-goal so I get a pretty new dress! It's amazing when you reach your first goal. I makes every goal after that feel so much more attainable. I know I can do this now so all I have to do is keep it up. I just hope things don't change to much when school starts again and the weather starts to turn.0
