Are peanuts good for you? I've heard both yes and no. I always hear about almonds and walnuts being good for you. What do you guys think?

I think that most if not all nuts are good for you. But they will have to be unsalted.. just plain.

Peanuts or NATURAL peanut butter are fine for you, especially if you aren't very hungry but want to boost your calories without having to eat much.
I eat cashews or almonds (1 oz of either) on an almost daily basis, much better use of the calories than the otherwise nutritionally void chocolate bars etc.
  • I just had a little handful but I am going for a four mile run after work so I will burn them off! I think they are quite high in calories.

Nuts are very good for you, but they are high in calories so just be sure to measure them out. The fats are good for your heart and cholesterol. We actually use shot glasses - my hubby has a collection - to measure them out of the container for both peanuts and almonds. That way, we know we are getting about 1 oz. of nuts. Otherwise, I can eat the whole can in one sitting.
