6 months pregnant at the end of every day

i wake up with a flat belly. then the second i eat, it expands. by the end of the day, i look 6 months pregnant. i never had this problem until i had my baby a year ago. is it because i have loose skin around my tummy? im doing ab workouts to tighten it

It might be that you need some core muscles to help hold everything in. Some of that is going to be food volume. You may also be allergic to something you're eating.

It could possibly be bloating. I wake up flat and if I eat a trigger food by the end of the day I can't button my trousers and it goes back to normal the next day usually. How do you feel when this happens? Do you have any stomach soreness, nausea, or gas? If you're not suffering from excess pressure, pain, etc then it's probably not this.

You may want to test for celiac disease. That was me every day.

The tests are ttG IgA, tTG IgG, DGP IgA, DGP IgG, EMA IgA, total serum IgA. You need to be consuming gluten in the 2-3 months before testing so don't go GF if you plan to test.

And get as many tests done as possible. The tests can miss up to a quarter of all celiacs.

Have you checked for diastasis recti? It's not uncommon for it to go unnoticed. But bloating and stomach swelling is common since the morning is when your stomach is the most empty and you eat and drink through out the day. A few of the fitness blogger I follow have shared pictures of their stomachs through out the day and they have the same "issue" even eithout ever being pregnant

    This is totally me!

I have diastasis to begin with. For one reason or another, summer has gotten into the way of my regular pilates training session and I got lazy with at home pilates workouts, between my regular workouts. In the last 6 weeks, I've noticed a big difference in my belly.

Pilates (with really correct form - I know incorrect form can make my condition worse) has a definite impact on end of day belly bloat for me.

(That, and food volume. Some foods bloat me more, too.)

For me it's food baby coupled with a weak core and too-tight hips and lower back. I have a hyperlordotic posture with forward head. I stand taller in the morning before I get tired and slouch again. That makes a huge difference for how my belly looks!

I just assumed this was normal. I was just telling my husband, I work out fasted first thing in the morning, and afterwards I feel like a fitness model, and by the end of the night, I feel like I'm in my 3rd trimester.

Haha mine has nothing to do with my posture. I've gotten a few sideways glances from my husband when I've been lying on the couch at night rubbing my pregnant looking belly
It has majorly deflated by the morning, thank goodness.

Have you been checked gastroparesis sometimes abbreviated as GP?

It's basically where the food you eat sits in your stomach instead of being digested at a normal pace leaving the patient with bloating, stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, and constipation.

I don't know about the others, but i don't have any symptoms other than the pot belly, and it makes no difference which foods i eat.

When I was an undiagnosed celiac, my bloated belly was caused by every meal. After eliminating the offending protein (gluten) my belly deflated within a couple of weeks, but it did take a few weeks of avoiding all gluten, down to a crumb, before I saw improvements.

A food elimination diet may help. It takes a long time though because it can take weeks or months to improve once an offending food is gone. It could be something to consider. Big painful bloating is not normal. ;(

I get that sometimes when I eat heavier food than normal. Most days I eat a pretty "clean" low dairy, low refined carb diet. When I have some splurge days I end with a much bigger stomach. Usually this involves more dairy or white flour than my body is used to.
