Just do your best by breaking it down to what you know was in it and then do your best to do some exercise to cover yourself!

List what you know you ate and then add a few extra calories for sauce and oils that they always add.

This happens to me a lot, too! I try and find similar dishes from other restaurants, one with the highest caloric value and the one with the lowest caloric value and just average them out. I am sure that it's not perfect, but it helps to give an idea. :)

Check to see if they have a web page...you never know....I went to a pot luck and I did find a few things listed on MFP but the rest was just an educated guess...I also exercised extra that day.

My work does this a lot too. It really sucks, but honestly I just try to stick to the plainest options. (Salad only, a roll with no butter, scrape off any sauces from sandwiches, etc.) It makes it a little easier to estimate when you can just pick out the individual ingredients in something so the less complex and more easily identifiable you can eat, the better. But yeah when in doubt, I always estimate high.

You probably won't get the exact calories on this one so pick something as close as you can from the database items.
