All of them. Eat a variety of foods, not too much of anything, to get a good mix of nutrients. It tastes better too.

My favorites are salmon, trout, tuna, herring, mackerel; I can also eat cod if prepared right and in a good meal.

If it's in it's natural form, meaning nothing has been added to it prior to you cooking it then all of them. And that's not to say adding bread crumbs or flour to fish is unhealthy, however without bread crumbs/flour would be the less caloric option. Personally I love tilapia, red bream and whiting. Yum.

Eating top feeding fish, farm raised (depending on how they do the fish farming) is not recommended. Things like shark, swordfish, tuna, etc. are high in mercury. There are also sites out the that give you warnings on the mercury amount in current fresh water fish.

Wild pacific salmon is usually safe and renewable. Tuna is over fished and has higher amounts of mercury.

There are alot of sites that talk about fish safety. Here is just one.

Swordfish is excellent on the grill. Not a flaky fish, meaty.

There is no "healthiest" anything. Eating a variety is good. Trying to pinpoint the best whatever and only eating that is a bad approach.

Some great advice here. If you do eat tuna more than 2-3 times a week, you should be careful of mercury overload. You can be tested for it, but the advice to vary and this were both good.

Most all fish is good for you (as long as its not battered and fried), but my favorites are Tilapia, salmon, tuna, & catfish.

    Choose wild caught.
Not farmed from China. Always read the package, carefully.

Why would you assume fish comes in a "package"?

Prepared properly, I can't think of one that not healthy, but salmon give a lot of bang for the calories.

salmon is very healthy for you. I like fish cooked with olive oil, salt and pepper and you can also use soyaki sauce which is soy sauce and teriyaki. You can also cook fish stovetop and add a little lemon.

All the fish I buy comes in a package.
I'm guessing @MelaniaTrump means if it comes in a package read the label especially tinned fish as there can be salt etc added.

For all of the fearmongering about tuna: the only people who are actually advised to restrict it anymore, are pregnant and nursing women.
There's been this fun thing discovered where Selenium binds to methylmercury and causes it to pass through the system unabsorbed. Three guesses as to which metal tuna is rather rich in.

Mine doesn't -- almost none of it. I pick up some frozen fish from TJ's on occasion that does, I suppose.

I just found it weird that someone who is apparently into scaremongering would assume people are buying fish in packages. I'm assuming she plagiarized it from some website somewhere.

    I prefer fishmongers to scaremongers.

(Monger, btw, denotes a vendor who stays in one place, vs. a pedlar. Perhaps everyone knows that, but I only learned it a few months ago and found it cool.)

Fish is expensive hence why a lot of people tend to eat meats then have fish as a treat.....tuna cans are always relatively cheap and good for you.

Fish isn't really all that healthy the way it's farmed now the fish don't get much nutrients, so nether do you.

The nonprofit Food & Water Watch looked at all the varieties of fish out there, how they were harvested, how certain species are farmed and levels of toxic contaminants like mercury or PCBs in the fish, as well as how heavily local fishermen relied upon fisheries for their economic survival.

Any you want, it's all good.

Some folks have read the typical Internet hype about farmed fish not healthy. Really a fish that doesn't get nutrition that's flesh contains protein, not healthy?

Get a grip people! Your great-grandmother was always on your great-grandfather about catching fish that had proper nutrition? Really you think that? It's fish! Go eat it.
