This didn't happen today, but it still bothers me.
I wasn't feeling very good about being overweight, and the person I was talking to was trying to make me feel better about myself by telling me "benefits" of being overweight: Not using as much bath water, not being stuck in the back seat of the van with 2 other people and getting one of the comfy middle seats in the middle, etc...
After the person had build me up so I felt better again, he had then said... "I wonder if overweight people have to spread their butt cheeks before sitting on the toilet.... Do your butt cheeks hang over the toilet?"
*sigh* I'd never through of it before until then. Ughs!
I know, I really need to get over this, but it still bothers me. It's funny how many people want to be in the bathroom while you're going to the bathroom. Now NOBODY is aloud in the bathroom while I'm sitting on the toilet, because I don't want them to see my chubby butt hanging over the toilet.

that's incredibly cruel! I know that harsh words like that can really stick with you for a long time. I've experienced my fair share. Hang in there girl!0

What a jerk! I wouldn't think twice of it, he probably has a tiny you know what and wants others to feel as self conscious as he does..........0

Now that probably was him trying to be funny. I hope. But the result is pretty insensitive. A lot like you giving him all the "small weeny" jokes you could think of. Right now i' thinking his small weeny might need to sit on the toilet just to aim in at all.0

He sounds like an *kitten*. Don't worry about what he said. Try to keep your mind full of the positive things people say to you. You can do it!!!0

That is just weird. As in the person is weird and just be glad your you and not him.
He needs to get a life if thats all he has to wonder about.

It's sad how ppl think that u have no feelings just bc ure overweight. i know i may kinda laugh things off that make me uncomfortable as far as my weight goes but doesnt give any one else the right to crack jokes or say dumb things about MY weight. i can make fun of myself, no one else can. its my wall i guess, i use humor so people dont know how much my weight really does bother me but if any one else were to say it to me i'd ball my eyes out. people think we're overweight by choice. yes, my choices of what i ate caused me to be overweight, but its also my metabolism, some people can eat the exact same things i do and not gain a lb while i gain a ton. i didnt choose to have a crappy metabolism, but its what i have and i struggle every day because of it. smaller people will truly never understand how hard it is....theyre ignorant. i know its easier said than done but just try to remember, ure beautiful, u have friends and people that care about u for u and when he's ugly, fat, old and bald ull be healthy because u learned how to be that way at a younger age. ♥0

The best thing you can do is avoid taking anything personally, whether is be someone complimenting or insulting you. People will do either for the weirdest reasons... You can't control it, you can only control how you let it affect you!
I'm within a health body range (5'9 137), and my *kitten* hangs off of the toilet. It's not you, and it's not me. It's the toilet!!! It's my bet that their *kitten* hung off the toilet also!
Consider adopting the wise words of Eleanor Roosevelt as a mantra, she famously said: 'No one can make you feel inferior without your consent!!!!"
An *kitten* is a fantastic attribute! Next time bend over and tell them "See this beauty!"This didn't happen today, but it still bothers me.

Wow. Awkward... Insensitive... Idiotic... My mother used to have a bad habit of getting me in a dressing room with the promise of shopping for me, only to be handed clothes that were too small and then being made to feel like a hog when she replied, "ooooh no. That's not going to work. However, if you were to loose some weight..." (facepalm)
The important thing to note here is that you are making progress for yourself. You are choosing to change your body and life for yourself. And, you're doing great.
The guy was a jerk. Period. His words hurt, intentional or not. Hang tough.

I hear you on the weight challenge. My grandmother and her sisters were all proportioned like soft squares. I've got it in my genes to turn certain foods into thick, bubbly fat. Shoot, I gained 5 lbs over Easter while staying with my parents. YIKES!!!
Hang tough. Know that your emotional state isn't exclusive to you. I've spent days, nights, afternoons, etc. crying about my weight. I support you.

I would tell that guy that I WANT to be the skinny girl who has to sit in the back middle seat!!! Sounds like he is into "misery loves company" excuses.
Don't let it get you down one bit!!0
