Active vs lightly active setting?

Having a hard time deciding on which I should set myself too?? Want to do this healthy and maintainable so really want to set calories right.

I average 9,000-15,000 steps on my fitbit a work day (RN in an ICU, on my feet a lot) & about the same on off days (kids, house, multiple pets, garden, also on my feet a lot). This is not including if I go for a walk, pool/swimming with kids (I get in and love to swim too!) or other exercise. There are some days where I only hit 5,000-8,000 but for the most part I stay 9,000 or above. I have been taking credit for extra calories for some gardening, additional walking etc as exercise - but not my normal average daily steps.

Based on the daily steps of 9,000-15,000 am I active or lightly active?

(Just 1.5/2 weeks into this & realizing how much I mindlessly eat calories has been very eye opening)

Thanks for any input-

If you have your Fitbit connected to MFP it doesn't matter. The calorie adjustment plus your base calories should come out to be about the same for each level. A lot of people just set themselves to sedentary and earn a large adjustment. Others prefer to start out with more calories on lightly active or active.

    Ah, thank you.

I don't have my fitbit synced/connected to MFP.

The one day I tried it didn't work and have not tried again. So, I need to get it connected and it will figure it for me?
