A Question about Sugar Levels Set by MFP

I have only eaten breakfast, lunch and a snack...and I am already over my sugar intake as set by MFP. However, I eat no refined or added sugars, pretty much ever.

A 10 ounce serving of spaghetti squash, a 200 gram serving of fresh cowpeas and a 7 ounce serving of watermelon sent me over my daily intake

So my question is...for weight loss...how much should I be stressing about this. I am eating vegetarian. With the foods I eat, squash, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, peppers, etc, I seem to over my sugar intake every single day!

If you have no medical reason to track sugar and you're not going over total calories, it won't really matter from a purely weight loss standpoint.

Calories matter more for weight loss although paying attention to macro and micro nutrients will help with body composition and overall health when combined with some form of resistance training to help maintain lean mass, or general exercise to assist with caloric deficit.

Many people, myself included, remove sugar from the tracking diary and replace it with something more useful, like fiber.

One can lose weight eating most anything as long as it's lower than your caloric needs. Though, that's not addressing health issues or nutrient balance.

I appreciate the fast response. I simply hadn't fiddled with the settings yet, but was also curious about it because it's red everyday. Right now, I am simply wanting to stay under my calorie intake to get some weight off. I am currently injured, so serious exercise is not an option yet. I am active, and move around a lot (hula hoop, dance, horse back riding), but not actually dedicated exercising. It's baby steps at this moment. I will certainly start learning more about the macros and such for when I start a more dedicate exercise regime. I appreciate the info on these forums and posters like yourself. Thank you.
