My inner turmoil

I love cardio. I love the arc trainer. I love to run. I also like lifting weights. Especially the weight circuit that PF has. IDEALLY I would do both every day. However that is simply not in the cards for me. So my struggle with trying to lose weight, I KNOW I burn more calories doing cardio. I also KNOW that in order to burn more calories I need to build muscle. But the numbers take longer to prove it. So every day I argue with myself if I should do cardio and burn calories now, or build muscle to burn calories always. LOL

Does anyone else deal with this?

    Nope...

How about 3 days cardio, 3 days strength, 1 rest day and a calorie deficit to lose weight?

The extra calories burnt by more muscle is teeny tiny by the way.

yes, all the time since I am a cardio fanatic. What helps for me is I recently bought a Jillian Michaels DVD called Kickboxing with Weights. 3 20 minute workouts that combine cardio with weights. I am doing that 2 x's a week and plan to bump up to 3 x's, then I do a spin workout for 25 minutes afterwards.

You lose weight by eating less than you need. Exercise is for health and well being. When you exercise, do whatever you want and love but do it often. CICO

Stop focusing on the calorie burn. Do the exercises you like. Strength and cardio should go hand in hand and you like both, so do both. What you eat or don't eat is going to have the bigger impact.

You get fit in the gym. You lose weight in the kitchen.
