Web developers are like T-rexes. They are big but can't do pushups or eat a pizza or put a thumb in ;)

    yup, ok, haha

Not a web developer but I work in digital ad operations, so I feel a lot of the same soul-sucking pain that web developers do.

    Web developers aren't real programmers.

I'm one. Stayed in academia, though, so @Cutaway_Collar likely has a similar opinion of my skills.

My job requires me to be a jack of all trades, master of none some.

I work IT Help Desk, so sometimes I do some minor programming. Mostly computer repairs, though.

Seriously, ignore it. People who need to chuck around insults for their own personal reasons are not worth arguing with!

Why would you expose your ignorance like that?

    Uh oh. Nerd rage.

Why would anyone take such a goofy statement seriously?

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You know there's this caste system among geeks.

    1. Unix kernel geeks.
    2. Language geeks
    3. Database geeks
    4. Web developer geeks

    what about crypto geeks

I'm a former number 2 and number 3. I wonder what number 5 is since I'm maybe going to be that next!

Work in IT as a SharePoint subject matter expert. Web development guru, wrote my first program in FORTRAN in 1962. Have an MS in computer science (field of specialization was advanced computer graphics), and nearly 40 years in software development, quality assurance, and IT (as well as a second career as a clinical counselor).

So don't tell *me* that web developers aren't really developers. :)

Developers don't make much nowadays. There are people in Asia who are better and deliver faster at 1/5th the cost.

Thanks but I'm a senior dev so I earn plenty for my lifestyle. No plans on doing anything different as my focus is family then music then fitness THEN work. I enjoy it and I work hard but that's all it is to me, just work.

I designed a router with GPL. That's not nothing.
