Crunches, bicycle crunches, side bends, it may help just depending on the results you want:happy:

Yes I have two, I haven't been on here long, and am still working on it. I work my abs everyday. Just keep it up and keep up the cardio, you can burn extra fat that you may have. There is no spot reducing, but there is spot toning! Good Luck!

i've never heard of "spot reducing".... but i can imagine the toning is possible with work. I just need to stay motivated I guess.

cardio, weight training and clean eating (whole foods etc. ...there's a whole magazine dedicated to the topic under the name Clean Eating, and Tosca Reno has written amazing books too). I have two children and my abdominal skin is definitely sagging right now with the weight loss. Crunches and so on won't do anything specifically for your skin nor the fat underneath it. Not as spot-reduction anyway. And your skin is an organ that needs a good amount of time to recover from the stretching and contracting from pregnancies and weight loss. Some people return to their pre-baby abdominal skin over time (possibly years) and many have a slightly different stomach. Genetics, age and size all make a difference. Also consuming healthy fats particularly from fish like wild salmon makes a difference. :flowerforyou:

    Hi

    I don't know...
I don't want to be a downer but depending on your weight gain during pg, your age, your activity/fitness level pre-pg....it can be hard to tighten up the tummy area after having kids
    I had 2 kiddies 18 mnths apart
My youngest is 3.5yrs and my oldest is 5
I came here in Jan and lost almost 30 pounds by May
My tummy area actually looks WORSE now as the skin is looser
I walk/run on the treadmill and do yoga daily (fat free yoga and specific yoga poses to strengthen my tummy/core) and unfortunately I haven't seen a big difference

I currently don't belong to a gym but am thinking of trying to get a personal trainer (session) to see if I can learn some exc. specifically geared towards my tummy that may actually work

    Good luck!

Just want to note that I AM a personal trainer and my post may be relevant to you. You must just generally keep with cardio and weight training, clean eating and healthy fats, adequate water and adequate sleep and beyond that there's just nothing you can do for one specific area outside of surgery. But give your body time (like, another year or two) before you decide that your skin won't tighten up any more

Give it time! Once the excess fat is gone, and your body has had time to heal, you will look great again!

    I did it 3 times!

thank you all! i don't expect to look like a model or anything, but looking good enough-- i'm sure y'all know what i mean
  • Cardio cardio cardio is the only way to burn fat. I gained 50 pounds with my pregnancy and it took me 9 months to lose it all but I still have my "mommy pouch" and I think I always will. :ohwell:
