So, I have been doing MFP for 10 weeks now and just the last 2 days, without doing anything different that I can think of, I have been having HUGE hunger pangs. I had them a little bit at the beginning when I first started, but nothing like what I'm feeling recently.
Anyone else have this happen???

Yes I still get hunger pains from time to time after 4 months...not as much as I use to but it happens. I try to eat a good snack like fruits or veggies...sometimes even a fat free hot dog with pringles. Yeah not the best but I treat myself at times:bigsmile:0

Sometimes you just have a day that wants more calories.
If you're really tired, your body will try and make up for the missed rest with calories.
If you're female and PMSing your body burns more calories during that time - although you shouldn't eat more calories if you're trying to lose weight.

Yep I experienced that last week but I still don't really know why. I upped my calories a little bit so I was trying to eat more but I'm also exercising more. I had two very hungry days with physical stomach growling and growling tummy shortly after waking up too. It only did it a couple of days and I seem to be back to normal. I can't give you any info, all I can say is you're not alone.0

just eat a little snack. or if it keeps persisting maybe you need to up your daily cal intake.0

Most definatley...and it's a HUGE test of my will power which for the most part, I have over come.
When this happens , especially after I have eaten and logged my diary, I will drink 4 cups of water and play video games or something that takes my mind off things. as someone who ate lots of snacks and jink food, I have read a LOT about food addiction, and remain convinced that the scientists who make fast food, junk food etc ( yes, I did say SCIENTISTS) design food to be addictive and seductive. I say that keep a strong mind, drink water, but if you have calories to kill, fresh fruit, veggies, veggies with hummus dip, etc can help...but then again, I am a veggie and you might well have more 'meatier' or 'fishy' options to choose from.
improvise, adapt and overcome, my friend!0 -
Yep, I have occassional days like this too. Not sure what makes it happen. I just try to eat another snack when it happens, but a very light snack like fruit or something like that. Just enough to satisfy the belly!0

Awesome advice everyone!! I'm glad I'm not alone.
I'm having a mango melon Sobe lifewater right now--the sweetness often helps curb the pangs.
Thanks to all who replied!!!0
