Tea is not for weight loss33

Calorie deficit for weight loss and tea is for hydration.14

Most bottled tea is sweet, which has calories. Unsweetened tea of any kind has 0 calories. Brew your own, it takes only a couple minutes.8

Trying to take shortcuts doesn't make permanent changes.10

Tea doesn't cause weight loss calories do. That being said tea has none and is better than pop. It's also a stimulant albeit a mild one and can cause you to want to move1

I drink a lot of black tea everyday and it does nothing for weight loss. Green tea tastes revolting (to me), and also does nothing for weight loss.
The only people who say it does help are the manufactures of >insert brand name < tea.12 -
It inadvertently helps with weight loss by being zero calories, being in water (which is filling), and having caffeine to stave hunger. The only thing it's going to do is maybe help you not eat as much2

Some teas can help with medical conditions that could make it harder to lose weight, but as for weight loss, teas don't help much with that. As long as the tea isn't full of calories.
The only teas that could mimic weight loss are some herbal teas that contain herbs with diuretic properties [like lemongrass], but weight loss from these are just water weight, not actual fat.0 -

One without sugar or milk in it.

Herbal teas can soothe or excite your digestion which may affect water balance to the degree that there is noticeable change in the scale, however it might be just temporary unless the tea makes you so full you can have smaller meals. Go to the library and read up on herbs or go to http://umm.edu/health/medical/altmed. I love green tea with ginger and lemon!2

I agree with this.
It's only good for weight loss if you drink tea when you otherwise would eat. When I first started and would want to eat I'd get some tea (or more often coffee) and that satisfied me.
I like herbal teas for chilling and making into iced tea.1 -
Green tea is beneficial for the whole body1

Green tea has no health benefits.4 -
I've drank tea, mainly black tea, for most of my life, even when I was heavy. It has had no effect on my weight one way or the other..it's just a nice refreshing way to stay hydrated.1

None. None at all.
All they do is make your wallet lighter.
By purchasing weight loss teas, you're essentially making payments toward the CEOs seventh Lamborghini.3 -

They are good
Most of the fit, detox, and skinny teas contain either natural laxatives or diuretics. They cause you to drop water weight or waste very quickly but do not help with fat loss. Please be careful with teas that contain senna. They really shouldn't be used for more than a week.7 -
Teatox
They are good
Can you be more specific than "They are good" ? That is a pretty generic comment.
Do you mean they taste good? Then that really has nothing to do with weight loss.
Do you mean they have helped you lose weight? Then please, share the research that says this is the reason you have lose weight.
Drinking tea is not going to help you lose weight, a calorie deficit will do that. If, however, drinking tea helps you drink less soda, or high calorie drinks, then it is an aid that is helping you maintain a calorie deficit - again the tea is not helping you lose weight, it is helping you maintain a calorie deficit.1 -
I find staying hydrated in general helps me to stay in a calorie deficit, but plain water would do the trick. I say this despite being a big tea drinker.

Work out, Diet, And get enough sleep, And keep your stress levels low, and weigh yourself every week and check body fat and body mass to see where your going with weightloss.. I would recommend you to take protein shakes after your workout and eat protein every 2 hours to keep your metabolism going ..1 -
Sorry there are no quick fixes. Eat less, move more. That's what I did and I'm 61 lbs down. Hard work, time & patience.4

There's a Australian show called 'The Checkout' that did an expose on 'Detox' or 'Skinny' teas. You can find it on YouTube. Very informative. In brief, they are a scam.3

Those teas are fads, scams if you will.....created because the mfrs KNOW many of us want an easy fix! The only true way to lose weight is to create a calorie deficit...500 or more a day will help you to lose approximately a pound a week...Do the work, get the results!0

I buy bottled unsweetened tea. But not for weight loss. We have always drank unsweetened tea. OP, there is no tea that will magically help you lose weight. If you drink unsweetened tea it is a good no calorie option which might help you stick to your deficit. Find a flavor you like and drink it unsweetened. Or don't drink it at all if you don't like it.0
