Wisdom Teeth Woes

So I got my wisdom teeth (all four) extracted last Thursday. I'm still working out every day (I do P90X) and I am trying very hard to eat right. I'm in a great deal of pain still and can't chew anything unless its mushy or liquid. So naturally, I eat puddings, jellos, and oatmeal. However, really hot stuff hurts my gums so soup doesn't work well for me. Its just so frustrating because I was eating SO well before my surgery and now I can't enjoy the fresh fruits or veggies and anything I can't just swallow is just out of the question.
I just feel bad overall because I'm eating 1200 calories of crap foods so I feel like I have no energy. I'd want to start eating better and something other than macaroni and cheese every night (bleh).
So if any one has a suggestion on some nutritious foods in mushy form that I can eat, I'd appreciate it.

I just got mine out too. I ended up buying a nice blender and puree up random things. I've been adding fruit so it doesn't taste too weird.0

So im incredibly concerned (as a dental assistant that once worked with an oral surgeon) that youre telling me youre still in extreme pain and cant eat warm-hot foods well yet. but doing P90X daily (vigorous workout last I checked) did you take anytime time off? were your teeth impacted into the gums or jaw bone? (this is NOT a racist question) are you pale skinned? Have you been icing your cheeks? Are you puffy swollen or bruised still? what kind of pain meds are you taking and how often? I cant diagnose you but I can sure as heck try and help make this easier! Ive found alot of oral surgeons dont give good post op instructions for some reason....0

oh nos...blend up some yogurt and fruit, sweet potato mashed....wow...can't think of much to eat; hopefully you heal quick. Best of luck!0

Smoothies with yogurt and fruit and ice.
And go back to the surgeon! I was still in pain 4 days post-op and it turned out I had dry sockets. My boyfriend and I were scheduled to go out of town to a wedding and he had to flush out the holes twice a day and pack them with the world's nastiest tasting medicine. He didn't complain once. So I married him.
But really, if it still hurts, call the surgeon.0 -
Homemade fruit smoothies - frozen fruit/vegetables add yogurt or whey protein powder to get some protein. Also, meal replacement shakes like slim fast contain a LOT of nutrients and can help supplement. They aren't as good as the real thing, but they still will help. Also, since you're not able to eat real food yet, you're probably doing yourself more harm than good by continuing to do P90X. I'd take a few days off to let your body heal before continuing the vigorous workout regime - you're just making it harder for your body to heal itself. If you really need to get up and move, walking will do.0

I'm on hydrocodone and an antibiotic; and I did take the day of the surgery off. Then I did Yoga the next day and some core work the next. I was on a recovery week that week so I mixed up the days to where I did the easier stuff after the surgery.
I didn't have any impacted teeth and the surgery only took about half an hour. Then I went home and slept pretty much the whole day. I only take the hydrocodone at night because I move in my sleep and am a teeth grinder. But I'm not bruised and the swelling has almost gone away. My right side is considerably more painful than my left and I can't open my mouth all the way. For example, I can barely open it wide enough to brush my teeth. But the two on my right side were practically sideways and way under the gums. And I am very light skinned in that I burn very easily and have never been able to tan.0 -

Call your surgeon ASAP. you ruptured a blood clot or have something stuck in the socket causing an infection. If your teeth werent impacted there is NO REASON for you to be in that much pain with those symptoms. CALL THEM0 -
Were you drinking through straws at all?0
