I had a friend who did it. She was tired all the time and it wasn't sustainable. It was designed for very obese patients to drop weight quickly before surgery. Once you resume normal eating, the weight comes back.0

I did it years ago and had the same issues.....lethargic and too weak to exercise and once I ate foods besides the cabbage soup the weight came back on immediately.0

I tried this many years ago, I lost ten pounds, but as soon as i was done sucking down that cabbage, it all came right back. It came back with my normal foods, like peanut butter and whole wheat breads.
My sister just did this diet a little while ago, she lost 6lbs in one week, but as soon as she started eating again, she gained it back. So, maybe eat more healthy and have the cabbage soup as a snack from time to time. Personally, I love cabbage prepared in anyway, and cabbage soup ( i love soups) is one of my favorite, next to broccoli and cauliflower soup, i eat it as a low cal snack with a few wasa crackers or a tuna sandwich.0 -
Seems like any diet on which you only eat one thing is not a good plan and definitely not sustainable. Your wife needs to eat a healthy balance of protein, carbs, and good fats in order to lose weight in a healthy manner.0

Hubby and I did it and he lost 50 pounds in about 5 weeks. I could only last a week and lost 10 in that short amount of time. We gained it all back as soon as we ended it. It is NOT the way to go in the long run. She will come to hate the taste of that soup, trust me. I felt weak and tired by the end of the week.0

Yup few good years ago...I remember how bad it was at that time! It's a quick fix diet with good results at the end of your 7 days plan. After day 1 of soup and fruits only I felt blessed and I enjoyed every single bite of the baked potato on day 2. It really helps your taste buds to feel the taste of food.
Looking back now I don't think I was mentally prepared at that time and as a result I failed. I'm not sure if I would give it another go.
Good luck to your wife!
PS Forgot to mention the awful smell in the house from the soup0 -
It does work but it will also make you sick if you use it for very long. We normally only use it for cardiac patients that need to lose weight quickly before having surgery. The weight DOES NOT stay off.0

If your wife sticks to her daily calorie allowance and eats whole foods (nothing processed) she will definitely lose weight. It worked for me. Just fresh fruits/veggies, legumes, lean protein, Greek yogurt, nuts). That's how I eat. I also don't eat anything made with any type of flour. (processed). Lost 10 lbs. in a month. I also exercise 3-4 days a week. The cabbage diet is just gross! lol It will demotivate you quickly!0
