It is absolutely mortifying to share one of my "before" shots - I just want to put that out there.

I've been feeling kind of down lately about my weight loss & how long this journey is. I started perking up about it yesterday when I realized that I've gone from being classified as "super obese" to just plain "obese", & I decided to take my first progress picture today so that I could really compare - because, like many people I think, I have a hard time seeing the difference when I simply look in the mirror. Well, comparing the pictures certainly helped me see how far I've come, & although I initially didn't plan to share any photos until I'd reached my goal, I'm feeling really proud & actually WANT to share!

I'm 5'8" tall, & started my journey at 298 lbs 8 months ago. This morning I weighed in at 221 lbs, and have somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 lbs more to go.
