How accurate do macronutrients have to be?

So like most people I track my macros, using flexible dieting. However I've heard some say it needs to be spot on, and others say within 20g if each for example. I normally use it is a target to hit, and if I go slight over it doesn't matter to me.

what is the end goal? For weight loss the most important thing is CICO (the caloric deficit). If you're trying to stick to a particular meal plan as a part of a bulking or cutting cycle, its my understanding that you need to be very accurate.0

Are you looking to step on stage at some point? No? Then you're probably fine.0

Pick one method and stick to it. If it's working to have a range and your losing weight (if that's your goal) then do that. It's all about consistency. But 10 grams of fat and 20 grams of carbs or protein can add up quick over the span of a week if you're going over. It's like tracking bcaas/ seasonings/ gum. You can track it if you want, or just keep it consistent and track your food. Just a little example lol idk if that helps but hope it does!0
