Weird question

So I am not new to MFP. I have used it off and on for many years. However I'm new to using a Fitbit and MFP together. So I'm going to try to word this question as best as possible and hopefully you guys can help me out.

I am a daycare worker and I would say I'm on my feet for about half the day or more. I put that I am sedentary on here though thinking it would help me lose weight quicker since it would restrict my calories more. Is this a correct assumption? Or will the numbers be off since I have my Fitbit connected and it is adding the calories I'm "burning" at work?

Thanks for your help!

Fitbit will adjust your available calories. I don't always eat all of the extra, but sometimes I do. I'm losing just a smidge faster than the 1.5lbs I set MFP to, which is to be expected. Losing fast isn't better (except that's what we all want...goal weight yesterday please! Lol!).

How fast are you trying to lose weight?
Realistically 1-2 lbs per week is a safe normal rate. More than 1% bodyweight loss per week and you will start using your lean body mass (organs, muscle, bone, etc) as well as fat for fuel. Having to large of a deficit can also lead to fatigue and possibly a binge.

Fitbit is going to adjust your calories so that you are 250-1000 (based on weight loss setting on MFP) under what it thinks you burned.

Thank you! And I know right?!? Haha I've been off and on this site so much. But everytime I start it, I lose quite quickly. Just gotta stick to it. I just got engaged so I'm really motivated! Lol

If fitbit is adjusting your calories up A LOT each day, you should reset it. It makes it hard to plan your day because the adjustments don't start happening until later in the day. Instead of ending up with 500 calories to eat at night, I would rather spread them out through out the day.
