I think it depends on how bad the skin is sagginf and from the way you are talking tonong up with weights would probably help. I know peolpe that lose alot of weight and have hanging sking and that has to be cut off. From the way you talk you just need to tone up from wheree you have lost 77LBS....WOW!!! I have tried to motivate myself to do this diet and seeing your results shows me it truly works!!! Very Awesome!!!0

I've known people to lose 40 pounds and have that extra skin, and others to lose over 100 pounds with no extra skin. The only difference I know of off hand, is that those without the excess did strength training and constant toning the entire time mixed in with the cardio. I can't say if you'll have the same results or not.0

I'm an advocate for strength training for anyone but strength training doesn't replace skin elasticity. I am fit but still have loose skin on my tummy from years of food abuse and so many pregnancies. Not bad enough to go under the knife though!0

I think if you lose the weight slowly, drink plenty of water, and include Strength Training from Day One, you shouldn't have too much problem with Loose, or 'Extra' Skin. There are some on here who will disagree with me, but in my experience the sagging or loose skin is really Not an issue.
If you do elect to have surgery, you might think about Donating your extra skin to a Burn Center.
:drinker: Congratulations on your Loss so far!!0 -
you may find that your skin never goes as tight as someone whos never had to lose a lot of weight.
I was about 185lb after my first pregnancy and my legs never seem to get toned and always wobble, even though im nearly 70lb lighter now and much more muscular, and my breasts never recovered.
Some people just ping back, others arent so lucky0 -
Loose skin is a combination of genetics, elasticity and is greatly influenced by age, skin condition (moisturize!!), and how much you gained, for how long and if you were a yo-yo dieter.....did you stretch and shrink your skin alot? That's what did me in :-)
I have strength trained all my adult life, run a marathon, and my tummy and upper arms (and perhaps my inner thighs) are just not bouncing back.....my stomach seems to have given up it's elasticity the previous time I gained alot and my thighs just this last time.
Do everything within your control and hope for the best! The way I see it, if I it really bothers me and I still need it when I'm at goal, I'll consider a tummy, arm tuck and see what is going on with my thighs.
Sometimes I'm really pissed at myself for doing this to my body, but what is done is done, all I can do is decide not to yo-yo again and apologize to my body for abusing it the last 15 years. Thus why I'm here and doing it slow and remembering that if I eat sensibily, the way I did when I was in my 20s and thin, I will not have to deal with losing it all over again. The present, that's what's important :-)0
