I am in the middle of marathon training. I am 15 weeks out now. I am scheduled to run a 16 miler Saturday. Unfortunately I am sidelined with a calf strain. Do I completely rest ior cross train (bike, ect) to replace the run?

If you're injured, rest and cross train if possible. Ain't nobody running 26.2 miles with a bad calf.

This is the truth! Speaking from experience.

Thanks. My thought is 3-4 days off and then go for a short run to see how it goes.

Definitely rest it. Last time I ran on an injury, I ended up tearing my IT Band and was out for 3 months.

Rest. Definitely. I had a niggling calf for a few weeks, rested up last week then fell apart in the first few hundred metres of a 12k race last weekend. I made it to the end (long after everyone else as I walked most of it) but have ended up with a tear in the calf muscle/tendon and will be missing my schedules races for the next few weeks :(
