Should I be eating back exercise calories? I'm trying to lose weight gradually since I am a nursing mom. But if eating back exercise calories means no weight loss at all, then I won't do it. Thanks!

Many people here state they only eat half of their exercise calories.
    I don't eat any back.

I asked my doctor that very question. In my situation, I had a lot of weight to lose and was not a nursing mom. I was exercising a lot to help speed up my weight loss. The doctor told me it was not necessary to eat back my exercise calories as long as I was not feeling tired or lethargic and eating at least 1200 a day.

If you are nursing I would strongly recommend you err on the side of caution and start off by eating most of your exercise calories. MFP's calories recommendations don't include any exercise. Adjust your budget after a few weeks. Are you including several hundred calories per day for nursing?

Exercise calories are as real as BMR and activity calories. You need to fuel your exercise and maintain your milk supply for your child.
