I've always been the "big girl" growing up hearing people call me "wide load" and "tubby" behind my back. I brushed off telling myself it was their loss if they didn't like me because of my weight. But when I stepped on the scale when I found out I was pregnant with my first daughter my senior year in high school I thought "holy crap I'm 270 pounds!" It escalated from there after I had her I was up to 306lbs. I managed to lose a whopping 6 lbs in a year before I got pregnant with my second daughter. It's been 2 years since I had her and I'm now up to 330 lbs at only 23! I looked in the mirror one morning and realized I don't want to live like this. I don't want my daughters to be made fun of for having a fat mom. I'm going to do something about it and get my life back!! I know with enough support I can do it! :)

Welcome! You've got this. Just stick with it, and put the work in. Pounds will be melting off you, and you'll be proud of all of your achievements.

Good for you. You can do this. It is important for you to also be a role model. I have an 18 year old and I wish I would have been more successful in the past. I just hope the effort I"m putting in now is enough.

You CAN do this! It's amazing that you are ready to go and take back your life. Each of us has our own struggles, but we are also the only ones that can change our lives! I've always been heavy too and working toward my last goals has been a challenge so I thought MFP would be a great tool to help succeed. The most important thing to remember about losing the weight that I have found is to simply be kind to yourself. If you have a great day, exercised, ate right, and feel good make sure you acknowledge it and be proud. If you have a bad day where you don't feel well, the scale doesn't seem to match, or you had too many calories acknowledge it and brush yourself off for the next meal or day. Best of luck!!

Step One is acknowledging that you want to change....

Remember you don't have to be perfect from day one you didn't gain all the weight overnight and you will not lose it over night.
create a lifestyle change with better eating habits and more movement that you can work with in your own personal life and it you'll be good to go!
