If you are on a moderate weight loss regime you might just have hit your maintenance consumption for your new weight.
I'd go for a much lower calorie intake then start adding back once you've established a good steady weight loss for 6/8 weeks. You need to hit your target weight eating just under your maintenance calories.
    Good luck.

When you have a lot to lose, I think it is often a good idea to do it in chunks with maintenance periods in between. For example, lose 35-50, maintain for several months. Lose another 35-50, maintain again. It might seem like it will lengthen the time between starting and finishing but it can actually help reduce weight loss fatigue and help you stick to it through the long haul.

How much have you regained? When did you start gaining again?

Have you recalculated your calorie intake goal? You need to do this every so often as you lose as your body will need less calories at lower weights.

Are you weighing all solid food on a food scale and logging everything (oils, condiments and such)?

Double check the accuracy of the MFP entries you choose to log to make sure they are accurate (can double check against packaging or USDA website)? Are you using the recipe builder or logging generic entries (things like mashed potatoes)? These entries shouldn't be used as you don't know if the person used the same ingredients as you or in what amounts (recipe builder should be used for things like this).

How much have you gained back over what period of time? Have you changed your eating or exercise habits? The obvious answer is to keep doing what you did to lose 55. That's a great loss!

You have to continue to account for every calorie with a very level of accuracy. Maybe add walking to the mix. Start out doing maybe 30 minutes and slowly increase distance and frequency. Also pay close attention to all the details. Your body may not be in agreement with auto calculator. For many reasons you may require less than it suggests. You need to do some logging and math to figure that out.

I can understand where you are coming from. I'll share whats helped me.
I lost my first 60 lbs in a year. For 6 months after that, I gained and lost the same 5 lbs before settling back in and losing 10 more. I was down 70 when I used an injury as an excuse to quit on myself. I gained 10 lbs back over 4 months. I knew it was happening, I was still weighing, but mentally I just wasn't ready to get serious. Then, just as it did 2 years earlier, I one day felt ready again. I knew I had to make a choice and pick a direction, and I did. I have lost 3 of the 10 I put back on. I sometimes kick myself and say, boy, you could have been at goal weight by now. But that isn't productive. What is helpful is reminding myself that I'm now going in the right direction, not the wrong one. I stopped the bleeding, and am improving. And that is very empowering. Good luck.

I've lost just over 60 in one year. The past three months I've lost and gained the same eight pounds.

I believe you have to keep weighing yourself regularly and recording your weights. Log everything, everyday.

Last week I started wearing my Fitbit again and getting serious. I've got more 5 weeks before we go on a three week holiday to Europe where I know I want to enjoy the food and wine. I've got 5 to 10 pounds to lose to before then as a buffer for my holiday consumption. I know I'll be very active, but also eating foods I usually limit. This is the incentive I needed to kickstart my loss again.

You can get out of the ditch! In our family, we call it keeping between the ditches.....

My super power is weight gain...6 months to lose, 2 1/2 to gain, I am up 30lbs. Recent deaths, MORE work responsibilities due to one of the deaths has me in a tail spin...all collaborations are new over "drinks". that is the big change.

I'm sorry to hear of the difficulties of your situation. Part of the reason I have been successful this time is that I'm retired and don't have the stress of a full-time job and a family business.

The "drinks" situation is one you can overcome with some focus. My husband and I had wine, every afternoon and with dinner everyday for 4 years, after we retired. Without exception. I truly thought I would die...well not really...but it felt like it....when I decided to drop the fat last July. Wine had to go. One of my commitments was to never drink my calories. So on wine. No margaritas. It was hard, but I drank Sparkling Ice and Bai Bubbles while he had wine. We make our own so it was all wines I had picked and loved. Some afternoons I felt sorry for myself, but after about 6 months, I could have the odd glass of a good one when we went out or had company in.....one of my girlfriends loves wine, as much as I do. It wasn't hard to drink ice water after a while when everyone else had wine.

Is there any chance you could drink seltzer while they drink the real stuff? I know from experience it's hard, but so worth it.....

Best of luck. You can add me as a friend if you'd like. My diary is open and i am active here. Lynz
