Help. I want to eat everything.

Hey! This is my first successful weight loss journey, going on week two! My weight loss is very gradual and it makes it easy to follow. Except right now I want to eat EVERYTHING. I've lost 5 pounds so far, and I have 15 more to reach my goal! Help!

I don't think 5lb lost in a week is a very gradual weight loss!

Eat everything. Just less of it.
A good goal for your goal is 1 lbs a week.
If you enter that in as your goal you will get more calories a day and be less inclined to want to overeat.

    Cheers, h.

First pounds are easier than the rest usually, but keep moderating and have a goal for a pound or two per week. You'll get there and be happy you did.

It took me 6 months to lose 20 pounds, slow down Lil' horsie. Above posters are right, take heed. You can do this!!

Depending on what you have to lose, 0.5 to 2 pounds per week is a gradual loss. 20 pounds total means you should aim for 0.5 to 1.0 pounds per week.

You CAN eat everything, that's the whole point of counting calories. Just don't eat it all at once.

I lost 6lb in week 1, it's fairly common and usually mostly water due to carb reduction. Nothing to worry about.

OP, I was very hungry for the first couple of weeks. Stick to it, you'll adjust. What are your goals? If they're reasonable (for most people that's no more than 1lb a week) then you should get over the excessive hunger fairly soon.

Fight those urges, its very normal when you are restricting your calories after a while to feel this way. My advice is to drink more water and keep busy. You will get used to eating less soon and it will feel like the norm.
    Keep on going

You can eat everything. You simply have to eat less of it. Learn about portion size. First weeks I ate potato chips. But instead of eating 1/3 of the full sized bag with dip, I stuck to 1 portion, a whopping 11 chips & a teaspoon of dip. Was I still hungry? Sure but I felt less deprived.

Yes I know that, but the OP seemed to think that this was a very gradual loss, 5lb in the first week is actually a lot especially as she only wants to lose 20lbs altogether. Seemed to imply that she was expecting to lose more than 5lbs a week on a regular basis which is unfeasible.

Drink a glass of water or a warm beverage like tea/coffee then see if you are really hungry! Usually, these help me get through the ' I want to eat my desk phase."
