What is losing weight?

Losing weight is taking a step back from your current lifestyle and realizing you need a change. It's throwing out yours and others ideas about dieting and exercising and rearranging your life. Making time in your day to move around in this world, even if it's just a daily walk. Giving up your dependence on food, but understanding that sometimes it's okay to eat that slice of cake. Losing weight is about persistence. It's about developing will power that's beneficial to all aspects of your life. Creating a routine, and motivating yourself to work through the hard times. Losing weight is about making goals and rewarding yourself at every milestone. It's about learning to love yourself and your body, even if you're not at your desired weight yet.

Losing weight is all of the above - but the title is wrong. None of us are losing weight. We are shedding weight, getting rid of it. It crept up on us, subsumed us and its presence is not appreciated!! So we shed it, we ditch it, we get rid of it.
It found us, we didn't find it. We are not losing it - it can get lost.
Unfortunately it clings on like *kitten*,
Which is why we need motivation.2 -
