Weight-loss and Dating

Hey all. I'm wondering how many of you are dating during your journeys? I took the past couple of years to work on myself but am now trying to find the right approach to dating while on my weight loss journey.
Most dates involve food and it is so tempting to get bad foods while eating out. Just wondering how people deal with the temptations and find people who support your journey?
Thanks loves.

be up front with your dates about your current endeavors and/or goals and come up with alternatives. Go for a walk together or something. There are tons of ideas to get out and go do something other than just out to dinner. If they don't have your back and help you to strive to better yourself from the get go, they may not be worth your time to begin with ;P3

That's great advice. Thanks! That's true... there are more things to do besides dinner. Hmm... now you habe me thinking. Thanks!0

I'm in the camp that believes that weight loss needs to fit in with life....and life includes dating! How do you deal with other social situations that involve food? Those tools work for dating too.
Here are a few ideas: share higher calorie things (like appetizer or dessert); just order healthier food (don't be afraid to modify, like removing half the bread from a sandwich); save extra calories for date night; get in an extra workout in the morning to "earn" some more calories. My husband likes to eat out a lot. If I know we're eating out, I try to save most of my calories for the restaurant meal. High protein (so filling), low calories options that I use to stay full on lower calories before going out include tuna fish over a big veggie salad with very light dressing (or sometimes just herbs and spices) or a low carb/high protein wrap with turkey breast and a side of veggies. The first option is under 200 calories and the second is under 300 and both keep me feeling full if I eat them in the middle of the day and chew gum/drink tea before and after.
The most important thing is to still try to track, even if you're just guessing at the calories/portion sizes. That will help keep things in check.
Good luck!2 -
Oh, also, portion sizes! You can eat anything in moderation and still lose weight. So, for example, if you want to have a pizza and netflix night with a date, you could still do that and just have two slices, along with some veggies/a salad to help fill you up. I personally love chicken wings and used to eat them with pizza. Now, though, I'll still have them but it has to be one or the other. I might have 5 chicken wings as my meal. It's still a lot of calories, but I am able to save for that much, whereas 4 wings and 3 slices of pizza would be instant weight gain!2

Thank you, those are great ideas. Yes. I'm a big foodie so this all helps! And the sharing of appetizers/meal is a great thing to keep in mind.
Thanks love1
