1. 26 lbs so far.
2. Since 01/31/11.
3. Goal is 135, I'm at 159 now.
4. Every day (actually, every meal) is a new beginning. Try to be consistent and, if you do fall off track, forgive youself and get right back on.
YOU CAN DO THIS! We're all here to help.0 -
Started at 175.
Now down to 130.
(I forgot to add this the first time!) It has been a several month journey so far. I had my baby in January, and those tummy rolls are way harder to get rid of than I thought!
I honestly have felt like I need to keep going, but it's less about reaching a number and more about liking what I see in the mirror. It's been SO hard. My only advice is not to weigh every single day, because your weight will fluctuate daily. Weigh once a week, and don't beat yourself up if the number you see isn't what you expected. Best of luck!0 -
I started at 289lbs, Im at 236lbs depending on the day lol My goal is 189lbs. THE BIG 100lbs is my goal. Yes I get frustrated but it worth it I feel better then ever. I have been stalled for about a month but it has been along journey, going on two years. You can do this!!!!!!0

Hi,
I have lost around 4 1/2 stone in just under 5 months, and will drop another 1/2 to give me some flexibility on what I eat after hitting my ideal weight.
I have always enjoyed healthy food, so cut out all of the crap (but still had treats) and counted those cals - doesn't work for everyone, but it has for me.
I have always enjoyed cycling, and have commuted by bike for the last 10 years, around 20 miles a day. However, after a knee op last October I was left for 6 weeks non weight bearing, followed by a further 2 1/2 months off the bike, so my hefty size ballooned. I am now getting up to strength and have upped my daily commute to 21 miles each way, with a weekend club ride of 60-75+ miles. Burning a massive number of cals has certainly helped!
Feel free to add be as a friend if you like, and/or PM me if you want to know any more.

Lost 26 lbs in 35 days. Happy with the results so far, but I still have a ways to go before I'm in the "healthy weight" range.
My wife & I are on this journey together (which helps A LOT). One thing we've found is that we weren't nearly as unhealthy as we looked; it really only took some minor tweaks to our diet and exercise habits, rather than a total revamp of our lifestyle.
My clothes fit better, I feel better, I look better, and I have more energy. It's well worth it!
As for tips, all I can think of is to plan ahead as much as possible, give yourself a break once in a while, and make it FUN. Being healthy should NOT feel like a punishment!0 -
How much weight did you lose? 76 pounds (gained 9 back, oops)
How long did it take? 2 years
Did you feel satisfied, or did you think you needed to keep going? I gained back 9 of them, and decided that I want to lower my goal weight from 144 to 140. So, I have 12 pounds to go now, not because I need to keep going (I'm at a healthy weight now and feel and look pretty good) but because I want to keep going.
Do you have any helpful tips? Be okay with slow and steady losses. Aim to lose a pound or less a week. Learn to love your body at every stage of your weight loss journey, even the beginning ones.0 -

Oh, and my name is Bethany too. ;-)0 -
I started some time in February at 205lb I'm now 166lb and aiming to be somewhere around 140.
I had my third baby in September and as he is my last I decided to better myself for the sake of my kids as I have, always been over weight. As someone else said take it meal by meal and never give up.0 -

.... should NOT feel like a punishment!
Wish my clothes fitted better - costing me a fortune going from a 38 waist to 30!
Totally agree with the last sentence - as I often say, have treats as it is not prison sentence0 -
I started @ 268#. The first 81 took about ten months, working out 2 hrs a day 5 days a week and not keeping track of food. Kept it off for 2ish years. I gained back 11... Due to an injury then from there, I went about 8 mos with no exercise and eating junk......so I gained 26.
My grand total to date is 106.5 lost. I was working out the better part of 4 years(aside from that 8 month span) and all I had to do was learn portion control and accountability. Good luck and feel free to add me if you w
It all began 2007/2008 268# this is when I started working out, boy was I exhausted at first! After a few weeks it got better, then improved more......I love working out! I do 7.5 hrs a week of conscious exercise0 -
How much weight did you lose?
I started at about 190 Christmas 2010, and started MFP in February 2011. I started losing a little bit before, but MFP really gave me the push I needed to keep on track. So far, I've lost about 32-35 lbs with MFP alone. Currently, I'm in the 132-135 lb range and feeling great.
How long did it take?
It's taken me about 5 months with MFP to lose 32 lbs.
Did you feel satisfied, or did you think you needed to keep going?
I feel satisfied, but why stop now? I'm just on the "normal" BMI range for my height. If I can keep going to reach about 125 lbs, I will try to manage that.
Do you have any helpful tips?
1. Do not give up! At first, you'll notice it's hard to get away from your old habits. You can do it though. I started out eating about 1,500 calories + a day. Now, I net less than 1,000 after exercise and never go hungry.
2. Get support from others. You can't do it alone. It could be something little like having your whole household switch to skim milk or going on walks together. Then, increase it by getting involved in the community here on MFP. You can come in contact with so many supportive and helpful people.
3. Treat yourself. You can't diet, diet, diet. Say, 1 treat a week? Maybe you could have that bowl of ice cream Friday night or a slice of cake at the birthday party. It won't kill you and it'll only make you work harder!
Good luck!!!0 -
I have lost a total of 88 lbs so far.
I have been on this journey since Jan 2/2009, not so much a new years resolution... but rather wanted to start the day after my birthday so I could enjoy my cake
My starting weight was 268 and I am now at 179.8 with a goal weight of 150, however looking at it now, I think I will likely need to lose a little more, maybe a goal weight of 140 or 135.. but I will see once I get closer.
I have fallen off the wagon from time to time, but its all about learning and bettering yourself. Set goals for yourself, small and large ones... and rewards!! Obviously the ultimate reward is being healthy and having lost the weight, but you need something to keep you going in between as sometimes the big picture isn't always enough. And SUPPORT!! That is probably one of the most important things. And luckily, for those of us who don't have it in our everyday lives at home, it can be found here.0 -

I hear ya on the dwindelling bank account this journey has caused lol
So far I went from a size 22-24 to a 12-14 and still got more to go.0 -
1 & 3) I've lost 52lbs so far; shooting for around 20 more
2) I began to watch what I eat and exercise regularly in February (roughly 5 months ago)
4) Counting calories isn't only about counting calories...you should also keep an eye on sodium, fat, etc. These other things can make you retain water (making it seem like you aren't losing).
I wish you the best0
