I've lost 47lbs since mid January but the belly is where I still hold.most of my weight. Anyone know the best way to get rid of belly fat? I do 2hrs of cardio 5x a week and weight machines 5x a week (alternating upper and lower body)

You can't spot reduce. For lots of people the belly is the first place you gain and the last place you lose.1

I'm eating great like 95% of the time. protein, water only, fruit, nuts. veggies, small amounts of healthy carbs. I do slack and have reward meals here and there mainly on weekends1

Like the above poster said you can't spot reduce. It'll come off eventually, it always does. Question. Are you doing these 2 cardio sessions on the same day as your lifting? And how long do you spend lifting?1

That's pretty vague. Also, fruit and nuts can be very calorie dense and easily overeaten. The key to weight loss (which is how you'll lose your belly, more weight loss) is taking in fewer calories than you burn. It doesn't matter whether those calories come from protein, fruit, nuts, veggies or "healthy carbs" (what you mean by that, I have no idea since fruit, nuts and veggies all have carbs and there aren't really any "unhealthy carbs" except those eaten in excess which includes fruit, whole grains, etc.).

You can over eat healthy food. Get a food scale and be amazed by how much you were over eating. I have lost 24lbs since May 1st eating the same food, the difference is my portion sizes are appropriate. Oddly enough I actually have more energy now than I did when I treated every meal like an all you can eat buffet.0

I know you can't spot reduce, but I noticed when you strengthen your core or do Strength training you see a difference. I mostly did yoga. but it will take time. just keep at it.2

Losing weight is the only way. Toning will help, but only after weight lose.1

ok thanks for the tips. I'm not over eating. healthy carbs I referred I eat, whole grain wrap or piece of bread, sweet pots, and I rarely eat them at dinner. I'll just keep up the hard work just didn't want to be missing a valuable piece of advice on the subject.0

yes cardio 5x a week and I alternate lifting so I'm lifting either upper or lower all the 5 days I'm doing cardio0 -

I have this one weird old tip...
Seriously, you can't spot reduce fat, but you can strengthen core muscles, eg with Pilates, which I believe can help flatten the stomach (weak core muscles can let the belly bulge out even if it isn't fat)2 -

Yeah, but how many calories are you eating, and what is your deficit?
Eating healthy does not equal weight loss, though. I ate 'healthy vegetarian' and was at my highest weight, but did not count calories at all. I didn't lose weight. I lost over 90lbs including so called 'baaaaad carbs' in my WOE. . All I did was weigh and log everything I ate and stuck to my deficit. Carbs are not the enemy.
The only way to lose fat is to be in a calorie deficit.0 -
I have weighed as low as 96lbs (I'm 5'1 & 1/2") and still had a bit of a belly... just sayin'
I'm currently at 98.4lbs (as of this morning). Everybody's response to this is info when I ask them what else I can do to lose my belly is "lift heavy"! So there you go...0
