The arms aren't the problem...

My profile pic has only shown my arms, so many have felt I may just be muscle and can't get below 150 something because of this. I don't know how to attach them, but in my photo gallery I put up pics to show a full body shot. The arms aren't the problem, it's the thighs/booty. There is still plenty of fat to go around...a lot less than before...but still there! So, there is still work to be done...haven't figure out how to do it...but work still to be done. One of these years I'll figure out how to actually make the scale move.

just stay consistent... and maybe start taking an inventory of whether or not your body really 'needs' to get rid of those trouble spots you think of... it's not possible to spot treat (as you probably know) unless you want surgery. but it's not worth it.... so keep up with good eats, less processed foods, and lots of cardio and strength.... you can do it!0

You look awesome! I would never guess 150, more like 115 !0

Thanks guys. I've been consistant...for over a year! It's bizarre. No matter how much I workout...what I do. The weight stays the same. It's bizarre and infuriating. It's like, what else can I do? I can't possibly do any more....I should be 20 pounds less. *sigh*0

Your body looks extremely fit. I know how you feel with wanting to see the scale to reflect all your work. I honestly think it's what you are eating. Your diary looks really healthy but maybe I would increase (even more) protein and lower your carbs. You may also need to rest your muscles because you work out hard!!!0

I think that's exacty it. Normally I would have been thrilled with this...but I WAS 146 after I lost the weight, and I work out SO hard. It's like I see so many people who are thinner/leaner who I know can't possibly workout as much as I do...because it's WHAT I do...so between that and eating healthy...what on earth else can I do?0 -

The issue might not be that you need to do more, but maybe try doing less for 3-4 weeks and see how that works. Your body might be fighting you for all the hard work over the past year it might need a slight break.
Are you eating enough for the amount you workout? What is your weekly loss goal set at? Is it reasonable?
BTW, you look fantastic.0 -
I don't have much to say to help (sorry) but I just wanted to say I would looove to have arms like yours! How tall are you by the way?? You do not need like you need to lose another 20lbs, that seems like a lot.0

I'm with you dear. My upper body is always the first thing to get in line. When I was at my goal 2 years ago, I felt my upper body was borderline too skinny but I still didn't like my thighs. That was why I decided to stop trying to lose. I didn't want my upper body to get any skinny, my hands looked old! I have pretty much accepted the fact that my thighs are always going to have some fat on them. But yeah, they look good in clothes.0

i think it's time to get the body fat testing done so you can truly see where your body is at......you look amazing and i think that you are tooooooo hung up on the number...if i look like that at 150lbs i will be doing the happy dance all over the place....i'll post pictures on every site i possibly can!!!!! you look awesome...0

I know what you mean. I'm the exact same way.. I don't put pics up for privacy sake (not from you guys but from people that I know that may stumble upon the site) but my upper body is smaller and tighter and then my hips/thigh/*ss dont seem to want to go anywhere.
What worked best for me was when I switched to a more protein enhanced diet. My protein was at like 50%, 30% carbs and 20% fat.
Another thing that worked for me was adding weights/resistance to my leg workouts. Maybe have a few strength training days where you only focus on your lower body rather than upper body. I started doing hip abductions with resistance bands and dead lifts with kettlebells. You do a lot of cardio but you may need to strengthen the muscle in your legs so it starts gobbling up the fat.
Another thing that I did was take a 2-3 week sabbatical from working out. When I got back to running the inches just kept coming off and because my muscles must have been relaxed, my mile time improved and I could handle heavier weights!
I also agree with whoever said you may want to see a trainer. They may be able to take your bf% test and shake up your routine a little bit to get you off your plateau. My personal trainer changed the way I looked at working out.
If nothing.. I know we all think we need work here or there.. but girl.. you look great! Keep it up!0 -
you look incredibly fit and tight to me but I see what you are saying about the booty and the thighs being "bigger" My honest opinion is that the booty and the thighs are solid muscle(from the pics) and you will have to cut back on the weight lifting in those areas if you want them to be smaller. I don't see that you have any fat to lose. You don't have loose skin, you have an abundance of muscle. Cut back on your lower body weights and replace it with cardio if you have to.0

Hydrostatic body fat testing.
The nearest center for me to do this would cost me about $100 for the test. However, it's a 4hour drive, so gas cost would have to be considered, too. Too much for me at the moment, but someday...0 -
The latest research shows that weight carried around your hips is positively god for you
I, on the other hand, carry most of mine around my waist :sad:0
