Just starting today. I have a problem with compulsive eating at night when I am alone, so any tips would be appreciated.

    Some options

    1. Go to bed earlier
    2. Have a larger dinner meal.
    3. Eat healthy food like fruits and veg instead

It is not hunger that drives it, so the dinner meal size doesn't make a difference. I have tried healthy foods before, but my cravings usually kick in in short order!

Have you tried purposely not buying unhealthy foods. That way if the temptation is there, at least the foods won't be?

Take it one day at a time, and do baby steps. If you really try hard to log on here every day and weigh your food and put it in the food journal, it helps a lot. You kind of get a sense of how many calories you are really eating. This might deter you from over eating at night. It may take days to weeks before you change the habit, so hang in there.
