Crossfit

I'm a newb when it comes to fitness/weights etc but I think crossfit looks like an amazing fun and challenging work out.

Does anyone have feedback with newbies or out of shape people starting out?

Just be honest about your fitness level with the coaches at the crossfit box you go to. They should scale the workouts to meet your level of fitness. There's a video series on YouTube called "killing the fat man" maybe 12 episodes or so. You might look into the 1st and then the last to see what a difference it made. That guy was not in shape when he started either. At the end his dad starts doing a very scaled workout at crossfit. Go for it, don't wait!

Do it! Most gyms will have an on ramp to teach you movements, and identify your fitness level and scaling needs.
