Bump? Is it just some annoying thing people do in these forums, or does it actually have a purpose?

    Bump is used for a couple of purposes:

    When someone wants to add the thread to My Topics so they can find it later and/or follow up on responses.

    When someone likes a post and thinks others should read it, they'll "bump" it to bring it back to recent topics so others will have the opportunity to see it.

    Bring Up My Post. Most folks do that to bring it back up to the top of the list for easy access or to bring more attention to the topic.
