Breast cancer recovery/ketogenic diet newcomer...

Hi all - This is my 14th day logging on MyFitnessPal as I switch from a high-protein/low carb diet to a high-fat, low carb, low protein ketogenic diet. My goals are two-fold: to prevent cancer recurrence/new growth and to steadily lose weight over the next several months.

This type of food plan sounds absolutely nuts and completely counter-intuitive, but I have to say that I am a believer so far. I am also working with a nutritionist from the UC Davis Cancer Center as I go through chemo, so I feel that I am in great and well-informed hands.

Best of all, I am not craving or binging on carbs or "recreational sugars" (candy, esp). Thanks for listening, all, and have a GREAT day!!!

Wow congrats and good for you for focusing on a healthy lifestyle! I also had my surgery at the UC Davis Cancer Center. We're so lucky to live in Sacramento where it's farm-to-fork focused. Stick to your plan and keep smiling! :)
