Hi, im 49yrs And I'm just starting out with the program to loose weight. I have just started a 3 day week gym program as well as a calorie control program to loose 16kg. I'm having a lot of problems working out foods i can eat to meet my carbs, protein and fat limit And still be able to reach my total calorie intake for the day. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...thank you

meal prep is key for me. I like having foods that are easily to grab and eat. I'm less likely to grab "bad" foods.

Typically i try to eat the same thing every morning. Whether it be a bagel and an apple. Or eggs with salsa. Or a protein shake. Then I build off that. Try to make sure you eat protein at every meal. I'm not sure what your macros are though.

So if I plan on having pasta for dinner, I might do eggs for breakfast, a protein bar for a snack, a turkey lettuce wrap (no bread or using a wrap that's low carb), then i have enough carbs for dinner.

    does that make sense?

    Hello Mikey,

First it's "lose" weight, not "loose" weight.

The main principle here is to ensure you have a calorie deficit. After MFP suggests what your daily calorie needs should be, you either eat a bit less than that or exercise a bit more. If you exercise a lot, then you're allowed to eat a bit more calories to compensate.

Carbs, Protein, and Fats won't always be right when the Calories are just right, but you'll need a few weeks history first so you can study which items are best for you.

Don't worry about hitting your macros right now. Focus on staying within your calorie limits. As you get more comfortable in your logging, then you'll be able to choose certain foods that you know will not only help you stay within calorie range, but will help you meet those macros. You'll begin looking for foods that are higher in protein, lower in carbs and fat etc. Good luck.
