A Proper Introduction

Hey all!
So I've been on here for a week or so, and realized that I've not really done a proper introduction!
About 2 months ago, I was responding to some youtube messages at www.youtube.com/jhempel24 (yeah a self plug LOL) and just really noticed that I had no wrist..it was like...arm...hand. And started to do somthing about it.
I weighed about 118lbs at that point, and during my first 2 weeks of running went up to 220lbs. I kept running and changed my diet 180 degrees...just decided to flip the switch and do it. It was hard at first, especially because that first week I was on vacation in Myrtle Beach...but took the opportunity to not stop, and get up early every morning and run on the beach.
I got back and stepped on the scale the next week. I found I dropped about 15lbs in TWO WEEKS. I was shocked, and that was motivation to keep going. So during the month of June I picked up P90X....before anyone starts tryng to sell me their products...I aint buying, I don't agree with their "diet" or "shakeology"...end of discussion there.
So I'm at the end of week 3 tomorrow with P90X and Sunday start the "recovery" week LOL. But during that time, I've gained some muscle, although not too much is showing, I've constantly increased reps/weight so I know it's there, and have dropped 7lbs in those 3 weeks.
So for the first time in over 7-8 years I'm back under 200lbs.
I've got a 3yr 8month old son with special needs, so he takes pretty much ALL my time. I work 3rd shift, and have him during the day until my wife gets home, except for 2 days a week, so it's really challenging to keep track of calories. The schedule means that I'm up for 24 hours 2 days a week, 11 hours for others. But it also means that since my diet is changed, and I'm working out that I've also gained more energy to handle all of it better.
Amongst all this I'm currently working on my 2nd Album....Acoustic Motions, featruing alot of solo guitar arrangements of some of my favorite song. My first one did pretty well, made my production money back plus some...but do not have any more digital distrobution liscenses left (it sold better than expected), so can only sell my physical copies, and only have 5 of those left...I started with 100.
Anyway....the best part I'm finding about this place is the news feed and the MFpals I've found. It's a great place to be and offers alot of interesting and different advice about all sorts of subjects.
So keep up the good work everyone! It's great to read about the successes AND the struggles!!!

Thanks everyone!
Yeah gmb, it's why I did this topic. I had all these people responding to things I posted on the news feed, but never really did a real "introduction". So I figured I should do it and let people know how I am.
P90X is a workout developed by Tony Horton and BeachBody. It uses muscle confusion so you don't plateau. The workouts are intense, and are 60-75 minutes, Yoga and Stretch are around 90 minutes....and it's 6 days a week! if you've heard of the Power 90 workout, it's Power 90 Extreme!! Hence, P90X.
I don't do it 6-days a week, I run on Sunday/Tuesday/Thursday, but Monday/Wednesday/Friday are the P90X strength days for me.0 -
Thanks for posting Joe. Lots of hard work for you. Glad the workouts are helping! I know it's something I've noticed already, the extra energy, and I see with your schedule you can use all you can get!0

Yeah, they are definately helping...and realizing what to eat before and after the workout is awesome. I can workout for 75 minutes after being up for 22 hours, drink a glass of lowfat chocolate milk (carb/prot ratio is perfect) and still have energy to continue the day.
I'm no longer zonking out an hour before my wife gets home.0
