Hi all,
I am trying to fine some exercises I can do to help get rid of that stubborn baby belly. I'm not having a problem any where else and I never do when I try to loss weight it is always my belly that discourages me cause there is never a change but this time even if there is no change I will not give up I will fight through it and I am hoping that someone on here has some suggestions. Whether it be at the gym or at home I can do it at either.
Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!!

There is no such thing as spot reducing. Do lots of cardio, interval training is the best. Also, and this might sound silly, do not let it hang, keep your stomach muscles tight throughout the day, suck them in and continue breathing normally. It really works!!! You will be tightening throughout the day. Do ab workouts every other day. Planks are good, "bicycle" exercises, crunches, etc, mix them up. And of course, do not forget about strength trng, very important. Drink lots of water. And eat healthy, eat well most of the time. I know it is very hard to eat well 100% of the time but as long as you eat well most of the time (75 to 90%) you will do great. Good luck!!! :flowerforyou:0

I have the same problem here! What a good question!
I'm going to try Alf1163's suggestion too.0 -
What I found is doing those side bend things with 20 pound weights really help me out too, along with what someone else mentioned, crunches and such. Like they also said there is not spot reducing, only spot toning0

I just had my 4th baby in July on the 31st of this past year. She'll be 6 months old the end of this month. I also have a 14, 12 and 10 year old .... then got this miracle baby! I have to say there is a HUGE difference in the belly depending on when you have your kids. With my first 3 I had them all in my early to mid 20's. The weight fell all off within 3 weeks of delivery with each one.
Now with this 4th baby .... I was 35 almost 36 when I had her. The belly pudge is NOT going away now. It definitely did NOT tuck up like it did when I had my first three. So despite gaining 14 pounds and losing 28, I too am battling the belly bulge!
I heard the bender ball works WONDERS from others on my birth board. They said they are maxing out on crunches and cardio with little change in the belly pooch. But when adding the bender ball they immediately saw results.
Keep the comments coming! I am anxious to hear other success stories too!0 -

Never heard of the bender ball! I'm going to google that... sounds interesting. Thanks for posting about it.
I'm anxiously hoping to hear more success stories too... for inspiration and motivation!0 -
I agree with Alf1163 about the breath and sucking your stomach in. The pooch is caused by the stretching of the transversus abdominal muscle. During my child birthing class (I gave birth to our first child in November) we did breathing exercises to strengthen this muscle. Surprisingly, I have been doing this most of my life because I play the flute.
Strengthening this muscle also does wonders for your posture.
Either stand or sit with your shoulders back and your back straight.
When you breath in, concentrate on bringing your lower abs (think Kegels)
On exhale, release the muscles
I work from home and I sit in front of my computer for 8 hours every day. When I am working I am subconsciously keeping my abs "flexed". You won't believe the wonders this simple act does for you. I lost all of my baby weight in about 5 weeks; now I am toning and working on the weight I gained since meeting my husband.
Keep up the good work!!!0 -
I have this problem too, and posed the question a week or so ago. Someone suggested reverse crunches. http://sparkpeople.com/resource/exercises.asp?exercise=80
