Hello, now on my 3rd day

Hello, just joined three days ago & still getting to grips with the system. Already, I've found this site so useful and have recommended it to others. I've got the app on my ipad and filling it in as I go.

Been actively trying to loose weight for about 5 weeks and the effort is killing me! Given up full fat coke, (was drinking at least 1 litre a day) but can't seem to kick the Costa cate lattes. Losing weight very slowly which is very disappointing. Now at the stage where I need all the help I can get.

Working full-time and with two children to look after, fitting in scheduled exercise is a problem but I have been exercising on the wii fit board. I have bought some risers which has intensified the workout. Managed a few long walks, (5 miles or more), at the weekends.

I've put on over two stone in just over one year so I'm trying to stop the tide.

    You've made a great decision with MFP, it will help loads.

    Welcome to MFP! Glad to see you're already finding the site so useful. I've been here less than a month so far m'self, but I absolutely love it. The encouragement and support I get from my fellow MFPers has kept me going.

    good luck ... im trying to loose as well just have to stop eating sweets .... :) and drink more water :)

    Hello and welcome to MFP!! This site is great and there are alot of people here to support you, the app is also brill for when you are out and about.

    It takes time to lose weight and you should be aiming to lose around 1-2lbs per week which is the average for everyone.

    I used to LOVE full fat coke too, until I realised how much sugar was in it! Try Coke Zero, its very similar but has no sugar in it. I drink diet coke personally, but it took some getting used to. The best drink to have is WATER though. I dont drink diet coke everyday and water fills you up so therefore it could stop you from snacking. Also with Costa, when ever I go there, I get a skinny vanilla latte. Its really yummy and not that high in calories but the vanilla keeps it sweet enough. Simple things like switching from full fat milk/ semi skimmed milk to skimmed milk and choosing a lighter butter/marg can also help.

    The wii fit board is a good source of exercise, however you need to do a lot of it to burn more calories. I would recommend Zumba fitness for the wii or look at getting 30 Day Shred. I have just ordered my own copy to try as everybody is raving on about it.

    I'm so glad that someone suggested it to me, I've lost 5lbs is under a month and that's through eating more than I previously did! As soon as you get to grips with it and as long as you log everything you eat you'll be fine and you'll see the pounds melt away!! :)
